Boys cotton crochet sun hat

I really enjoyed making this sun hat. It is made from 100% cotton. I made this pattern up as I went along, I am thrilled with the way it turned out. It came out perfect and just how I visualised it. Its made using single crochet and double crochet (american terms). It reminds me of a fisherman's  style sun hat. It is traditional style. I love the colours. My son loves his new sun hat as do I. I will try and write up the pattern. I would like to start posting free patterns on this blog. Please feel free to leave a comment below. Here are photos of my handsome prince wearing his new sun hat.

Crochet hats galore

Liz McQueen patterns from

I have been having lots of fun creating and crocheting up a storm. My hooks have been on fire!  I have the crochet bug.....why? pattern reading skills are really coming on. This week I have had much fun crocheting following Liz McQueens Patterns from  Liz is a crochet designer and has a wide range of crochet patterns available for sale.  She also has free patterns like her brainwaves beanie which has been a big hit on craftsy. It is in fact at the top of Craftsy's Trending Free Crochet Pattern Leader board at this moment in time! Well done Liz.
will post the photos below for the Ziggy Beanie and  the houndstooth beanie.

I love how these are reversible. You can really make a fashion statement with this hat. I found Liz's patterns easy to follow and I would recommend her patterns to all.

A hat for me

I finally made myself a hat. I bought this wool a while ago. I liked the colour. Its a blend of new wool and poly-acrylic. Its super bulky weight/chunky. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand web page. If you search patterns and type in Lime hat, you will see the pattern. It was easy to make and worked up very quick. Its lovely and warm. It is a mixture of single crochet and double crochet. I love my new hat!
